Under normal circumstances, the majority of users should be able simply upload or create their coordinates directly. The following is a list of help topics to help users who experience difficulties or who are in possession of coordinate data which needs to be converted.
[edit] Spotstor Currently Supported formats
Spotstor currently supports a wide variety of GPS formats which can be uploaded directly through the import section for the user.

[edit] Desktop Applications for Converting GPS Data
Spotstor makes use of the excellent open-source GPSBabel to assist in converting coordinate datums to format capable of being read into our database.
This great tool is also avaialable as a stand-alone application which can be installed on Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux machines to assist users in converting and preparing their data.
[edit] Freely available tools to assist users in converting GPS data:
- EasyMPS - a tool similar in goal to GPSBabel, but has a more focused scope, EasyMPS is a Windows program that converts and merges geocaching.com loc, gpx, and Garmin Mapsource files.
- GeoConv - Windows coordinate conversion program that converts coordinate file formats, coordinate types, and datums. This is an effective and affordable solution for users who wish to import data to Spotstor, but have files projected in a datum other than WGS84.
- st2gpx - similar to GPSBabel, st2gpx imports/extracts data to/from Streets & Trips/AutoRoute/Mappoint in GPX format.
[edit] Commercial applications for processing, organizing, and converting GPS data:
- OziExplorer - A widely used commercial application for managing and organizing GPS data. Spotstor supports OziExplorer data natively.
- Fugwai Global Navigator - A popular GPS application which is capable of reading many different formats of data. It is capable of exporting into several popular formats and the native Fugawi file format is supported by Spotstor
- Maptech Chart Navigator Pro - Designed primarily for use with Maptech charts and data, this commercial application is capable of reading several popular data formats.
